Meghan Markle was among the celebrity guests at the opening of Godmothers, a bookstore on Saturday in Summerland, California, south of Montecito, where Markle and Prince Harry, Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, Jane Lynch and more local stars gathered. The Duchess of Sussex joined the weekend’s festivities, debuting another look that was in keeping with her era of quietly luxury style.

For the occasion, Markle opted for a black sleeveless jumpsuit courtesy of Club Monaco. The jumpsuit featured a pointed collar and buttons down the front placket. Wide-leg pants gave the jumpsuit a breezy, fluid look and a belt at the waist gave the jumpsuit a defined silhouette.
The American Riviera Orchard founder pared down her accessories to keep the look sleek and simple. She wore her signature Cartier watch and a few bracelets, as well as a delicate necklace. Markle also wore her hair up in a casual ponytail.
During her speech at the event, Markle praised Godmothers co-founders Victoria Jackson and Jennifer Rudolph Walsh for “creating and providing the space… to feel seen. To know that you are not alone and to see your story reflected in someone else’s story.”
Before her toast at the Godmothers opening, Markle attended an event at the bookstore with her husband of six years, Prince Harry. The couple posed for photos with Walsh and Jackson.
Markle opted for Ralph Lauren pieces for Friday night’s event, wearing a white ribbed tank top and cream silk wide-leg pants. She opted for delicate jewelry from her collection and kept her outfit seamless and simple. She previously wore Ralph Lauren pieces for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s joint interview on CBS’s Sunday Morning last August.
Since stepping back as senior members of the British royal family in 2020, Markle and Prince Harry have fully embraced their new life in California and are raising their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Markle’s style has also changed, favoring simple pieces that hark back to the quiet luxury trend. Her breezy style includes pieces by Heidi Merrick and others.
